As part of your Residential Building Contract, a builder must take out a QBCC Home Warranty Insurance Policy+ which will cover you for minor non-structural defects for six months after your build is completed. You will often hear this referred to as the builders “maintenance period", and there’s plenty of builders out there who dislike it!
